We’re just starting this journey together!
Hey Windows Insiders, We’re excited to announce the release of the first Windows 11 Insider Preview build to the Dev Channel! As we finalize the product over the coming months, we’ll be working with you to validate the experience. You’ll be able to try out many of the new features we showed off last week in this early preview, but not all. Over the coming months, we’ll be adding more features, like chat with Microsoft Teams and Android apps in the Microsoft Store, as they’re ready for you.
WSR is being deprecated
Changes and improvements – – [General] Windows 11 is moving from Windows Speech Recognition (WSR) to Voice Access. A dialog will appear when WSR opens telling you to try Voice Access. We’ve also added a banner under Settings > Ease of Access > Speech as They’ll. Voice Access, our new assistive technology in Windows 11, uses on-device speech recognition, making it possible to control your PC and create text without an internet connection.
They encourage WSR users to test and start using Voice Access today
It will support multiple languages and custom commands in a future update (these features are now available for Windows Insiders to test in the Beta Channel as noted above). Give your device a friendlier name to identify sharing to and from with Nearby Sharing.
For example, “speak faster”, “read the next line”, etc
– [Narrator] Narrator users can now use Voice Access to open apps, dictate text, and interact with items on the screen using their voice. Narrator users can use Voice Access to give Narrator commands using their voice. To get started, search for “voice access” in Windows search and set it up. Fixes – – [Task Manager] When creating a dump file for a process, the dump file location should now be selectable, so you can copy it.
