War correspondents were given the rank of captain, so technically she should be allowed in by the US Army Guard. Lee Miller: [Hands a knife to the girl she has just saved from rape] Next time, cut it short. The credits have some “what happened” explanations; and some of Lee’s original photographs, often along with those recreated for the film..
Starring Kate Winslet, this is very much her film, and rightly so
This 7.5/10 rating is as honest and heartfelt as it gets, the biographical drama of Lee Miller, a famous photographer of the 1930s and during World War II, showed the world the horrors of the world in her time. Again, fine work from an actor who still manages to hold your attention and works hard to do so. Alexander Skarsgård and Andy Samberg are backups who are equally great in this truly near-top film.
It looks hauntingly beautiful and it’s also tough
Ellen Kuras guides us through a largely hellish world with touches of light and happiness that are few and far between, given the subject matter. Writers Liz Hannah, Marion Hume and John Collee have given us a solid script and story, considering how ugly the world has become, as Andrea Riseborough and Marion Cotillard also stop by to act and look really tough, only Josh O’Connor is a clean guy here. The film could have been a little sharper and stronger, but then it would have been very graphic and had a higher rating, thus alienating more viewers who need to see this film.
A good piece of cinema and with what is out there, it shines and never, ever gets boring
