In the early 20th century, the Duttons faced new challenges, including westward expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. Although America’s Great Depression began in 1929, it began earlier in Montana. The Great Depression began in Montana in 1918, almost 10 years earlier than in the rest of the country. While the rest of America was prospering, Montana was struggling. Between the drought and the decrease in demand for agricultural products due to the end of the “Great War” (also known as World War I, from 1914 to 1918), many farmers suffered severely. As a result, Montana farmers will not be able to pay their war loans, which will lead to massive bankruptcy throughout the state. Between 1921 and 1925, half of Montana’s farmers lost their land. By 1925, 70,000 of Montana’s 82,000 settlers had left it. In addition, 200 banks went bankrupt in Montana. The drought not only damaged the harvest, but was also accompanied by an infestation of locusts, as well as the death of livestock. The Duttons are once again struggling to preserve their farming lifestyle in Montana. Patriarch (Harrison Ford) Jacob Dutton participates in many of the same battles as John Dutton (Costner) in Yellowstone. Very fun. There are two very interesting storylines in this story. One of them is Spencer Dutton. A disillusioned veteran of the First World War. Now a hunter in Africa. Spencer meets an English girl he likes. Suddenly they found out that they were going to go from Mogadishu, Somalia, to Montana. It should be easy… The second arc unfolds in a school where Catholic priests and nuns bully Native American girls. It was very unpleasant to watch this part. It had a little bit of revenge, which made it more or less watchable… I usually judge TV shows after one season. Not this time. I did not like the last series. Explaining why he hurts me.
