A grieving therapist begins telling his clients exactly what he thinks
He ignores his training and his ethics and finds himself making big changes in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” shares the best moments that shaped their characters from Season 1 and reveals who has the best Harrison Ford impression.
In the end, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role
When asked how they brought Harrison Ford onto the show, Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence, said Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and that he wanted to audition people who were similar to Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they would have to at least take it to Ford first, as he thought he would reject it outright, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was involved in the project, which would spark interest from other big-name actors.

Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was thrilled nonetheless. I’ve seen the first two episodes and find them appealing.
I also respect the way it presents itself: it’s not doing something other therapists should be doing, and that’s pretty clear
That’s partly because I realized there’s a reality to it based on a therapist who needs therapy and wants to break through to his patients, unexpectedly overcoming his own issues. It hasn’t gotten to the silly situations of other shows like Loot, but it’s still early in the series and I’ll keep watching it.
The program isn’t for everyone
Still, I enjoy the depth of the characters, who don’t seem like caricatures; they’re people I’d like to get to know.
