A Montana ranching family is faced with others invading their land
Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned hand in the world of Rodeo. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his mountain accent and reverts to the SoCal speaking voice he normally uses.
One from developers who want to build apartments
This series has been out since 2018, but this is the first time I’ve watched it. Last night I finished the first episode of the first season, it lasts almost 90 minutes. In terms of the Dutton family’s presentation, we see that they have a strong influence in their valley, but are wary of “attacks”.

To cope with all this and the vast size of his ranch, Dutton (played authentically by Kevin Costner, 60) has several grown cowboy sons and a helicopter with a dedicated pilot. The reason I watched episode one of season one (on Peacock streaming) was to get a feel for the Dutton family because I’m currently binge-watching all ten episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s latest show, “1883”; which is a prequel of sorts. In 1883, fictionally, the Dutton family from Tennessee joins a larger group to take a wagon ride from Fort Worth, Texas, to “somewhere out west.” They probably stopped when they got to Montana.
With sons born around 1875, 1900, 1925, and the 1950s
Again, this is all fiction, but given the ages of the men and the fact that Costner was born in 1955, his character would likely be the great-grandson, great-great-grandson of patriarch Dutton (played by Tim McGraw) in "1883". e.g. "Yellowstone" is a very good series, the actors are all top notch, the cinematography and sound are excellent.
It’s just not the kind of show I could invest myself in and keep watching
It’s hard to find characters with redeeming qualities, and I really don’t enjoy shows that are constantly focused on bickering and fighting and often murder in the long run. Now, at 70, I prefer to spend my time watching “pleasant”; stories.NB – "1883" is a very good and interesting series, as it authentically depicts the great difficulty of putting down roots and traveling through unknown territories to try to find a new life in a new place.

I was hooked from the get-go
In The Day of the Jackal (1973), Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier model. Mentioned in Graham Norton and guest stars: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). Eddie Redmayne is perfect for the role.
However, the cop is awful
She reminds me of Lizzie from The Blacklist. You can’t feel sympathy for her or root for her, she’s one-dimensional and has no redeeming qualities. I would have preferred Chukwudi Iwuji’s talent, which is wasted on this show and is a much more versatile actor than Lashana Linch.
Is it wrong to root for the Jackal?
I don’t mean to be harsh, but nothing about her works in this drama and like Lizzie from Blacklist, it would be wise to end her character and hire a more capable actor. The meddling wife and her family also drag the show down a bit. Maybe it’s my pessimistic nature that makes me expect disappointment.
Either way, I’ll stick with it and hope for the best
Maybe the writers can create a worthy opponent for the Jackal.

I didn’t know what to expect from the film as I thought it would be quite weird to see Robbie as a monkey. Ultimately, the monkey adds a lot to the film. You immediately fall in love with him, and within a few minutes, it IS Robbie.
The story will touch your heart
Jonno Davies who plays Robbie is a brilliant actor. Even though you don’t see his face, he knows how to portray it. It’s not just about Robbie the pop star, it’s also a story about his younger years.
I have so much respect for him
He dares to be so vulnerable in this film that is full of stories about his personal life, his career and the challenges he has faced. The music and visuals also add so much to the film. The film is a mixture of laughter and tears.
At the end, it left me speechless, with tears in my eyes, but most of all PROUD of who he is today
