The studio decided not to pursue this version, but the script is available online
Line of Events
After his home is invaded by the tyrannical emperors who now rule Rome, Lucius is forced into the Colosseum and must look to his past to find the strength to restore Rome to its glory for his people. In the years since the first film’s release, there have been numerous attempts to write a sequel. Musician Nick Cave was brought in to record a version by Russell Crowe and Sir Ridley Scott. His version focused on the more mythical elements of ancient Rome and would have seen Maximus arrive in the afterlife to confront other souls who had not yet ascended further. He is eventually tasked by Jupiter and other Roman deities to return to Earth to find and kill Hephaestus, an ancient deity who betrayed them. From there, he is resurrected as a Christian and finds himself returning to Rome with the mission of stopping the spread of Christianity until he crosses paths with the new emperor Lucius. The film would end with Maximus cursed to live forever, with a montage of the soldier fighting through the Crusades, World War II, and the Vietnam War, eventually revealing a modern-day Maximus working at the Pentagon in Washington.
Emperor Geta: The Gods Have Spoken!
Featured in The 7PM Project: Episode 3 July 2024 (2024). I saw the premiere in Sydney. The plot is richer and more emotional than the first one. Everyone’s acting is great, Paul did a great job! Denzel has a great talent for comedy and contributed a lot of funny plots. Personally, I don’t think it’s gory at all. There are a lot of fight scenes and it’s very cool.
To summarize the flaws: 1
The ending is very emotional and has many touching parts. Some edited dialogue is changed too often. Personally, I don’t like this editing method. I prefer to use a slightly longer shot to focus on one person (preferably the main character) so that I can capture the slight changes in the person’s face during the dialogue. 2. The seawater in front is too real to look fake. The seawater is too blue and perfect, which often creates the opposite effect 3.
(Not sure) p
As for historical rationality, I don’t think the people of the time had a clear understanding of the concept and appearance of the god of death. S. This is an adapted storyline. No need to worry about the originality of the storyline. So you don’t have to worry about whether the second one is a remake of the first one. People say they want to see a sequel, but they don’t want the storyline to be too tied to the previous one. This statement itself is controversial.
But the second one clearly says that it is an adaptation
If we are to see a completely different story, then we should list it as an original storyline. You can judge the adaptation of the script, but if you are not satisfied with its originality, maybe you should rewrite the history book. My ratings in all dimensions: Writing: 9.5/10 Directing: 10/10 Cinematography: 10/10 Acting: 10/10 Editing: 7.5/10 Sound: 10/10 Music/Soundtrack: 10/10 Production Design: 9.5/10 Casting: 10/10 Effects: 8/10 Hair and Makeup: 9.5/10 Costume Design: 9.5/10.
